Week 9 settled a lot of what the final week will be about. Here’s what happened across Orange County.
Trinity League
Mater Dei and Orange Lutheran combined for 90 points, and the Monarchs came out on top, 52-38. Both teams entered 2-1 in league. The win kept Mater Dei a game behind Santa Margarita, which handled JSerra 36-12 and moved to 9-0 overall and 4-0 in league.
St. John Bosco beat Servite 54-7.
Alpha League
The biggest surprise of the night came in San Clemente. San Juan Hills shut out the unbeaten Tritons 16-0, the first time anyone had kept San Clemente off the board this season. The Stallions went to 4-0 in league, with Mission Viejo, a 58-7 winner over Los Alamitos, still unbeaten at 3-0. That set up a winner-take-all game between those two in Week 10.
Bravo League
Crean Lutheran won 31-17 at Corona del Mar and moved to 4-0, one win from the outright title. Capistrano Valley kept pace at 3-1 with a 30-18 win at Villa Park. Tustin beat La Habra 34-20 on Thursday.
Delta League
El Modena edged Dana Hills 21-19 in a matchup of 7-1 teams. Huntington Beach stayed perfect, 37-22 over Troy on Thursday.
